The Word Around Town

**5 Stars: A Delightful Brunch Experience at Tastebuds**

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tastebuds for brunch after participating in the "Hot Chocolate Run" in January, and it was truly a standout experience. Located conveniently on the corner of 5th Ave and Balboa, near Golden Gate Park, this charming restaurant not only offers a warm and inviting atmosphere but also holds the distinction of being black-owned, which adds to its unique appeal.

"One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had!"

10000/10. This is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! Stumbled across this spot by accident, and fortune really does favor the bold. Everything was so so good, and everyone at my table was beyond impressed. Excellent seasoning and great mix of flavors. You have to go in and order yourself (and grab your own water, utensils, etc), but our food came out reasonably fast so we didn't mind. We sat outside on a beautiful day and it was very pleasant. Would absolutely return!

"The food spoke to my soul"

I had been wanting to try this place for a while. Luckily, my coworkers suggested it today. We were able to call in the order so that we would have time to sit and enjoy it on our lunch break. I had the shrimp and grits. The food spoke to my soul. Our server, Megan was very nice and accommodating . She had such a sweet attitude. I will definitely be back!

The Best Breakfast Spots In SF

“Wanna grab brunch?” is actually code that could mean many things, like getting wasted over bottomless mimosas, or dressing up and waiting hours for overpriced bacon alongside a crowd of influencers who want to see and be seen. But when brunch simply means, well, brunch, head to Tastebuds. The counter-service Richmond spot serves excellent soul food-inspired classics that work just as well for soaking up last night’s margaritas as they do for Sunday family lunch.
"This spot has everything you need from a straightforward brunch spot."
